New Ciara Video 'SORRY'

It's been awhile since Ciara has put out anything that truly goes IN and now the wait is over. Her new single 'Sorry' is a hard-hitting, slow make-up song. I like Ciara's upbeat music but I LOVE when she pours her heart out. The song is beautiful and relatable to almost anyone who has ever been in a relationship.

Rihanna Tat, Hair & SEVENTH Album!!

Nobody can knock Rihanna's hustle. The girl works HARD and as a result we're being presented with her SEVENTH album later on this year. The announcement was made via Def Jam France's twitter page a few days ago but was quickly deleted. I'm SO excited!!

Rihanna has also been very busy performing at the MTV VMAs, Paralympic Closing Ceremony AND getting what I believe is the singer's 18th tattoo. The tattoo of the Egyptian 'Goddess Isis' is in honour of Rihanna's grandmother  "GranGran Dolly" who passed away at the beginning of July. 

Of course she wouldn't be Rihanna if she didn't go through the week without at least one "I don't Give a PHUCK" statement. During her performance at the Closing Ceremony Piers Morgan tweeted about Ri-Ri's short hairdo saying "ps I think @Rihanna needs to grow her hair back. Fast."

Rihanna replied with  "@piersmorgan grow a d**k..... FAST!!!!" The pair made up with Rihanna saying she would appear on his show if the conversation wasn't about cosmetics.

He's Not The Only One In The Sea So Baby GO FISH

Almost any song with Karina Pasian has my approval but oddly enough for once KP wasn't the one who had my ears on this one. Although I love my grammy-award-nominated Dominican, Skye Townsend most definitely had my attention..well of course she should since it is HER song but y'all know I love me some Karina! Skye's latest release titled 'Go Fish' from her newly released EP 'Vomit' tells the tale of a girl whose good friend is dating her abusive ex, and Miss Townsend is trying to convice her to leave him, with the help of Chris O'Bannon who is the good guy who will never get the chance he wants with Karina because she refuses to leave her boyfriend. Instead of telling the story from one angle you hear it from three different perspectives which in my opinion is genius. The video itself is quite simple, and I'm going to assume from a media perspective the editor chose to have it in black and white to show the seriousness of the situation. The lyrics are deep and I was beyond amazed with Skye's rapping skills, I wasn't expecting that at all, she reminded me of Evonne Hunnicutt from Atlanta duo, Myxx - soothing to the ears, and Chris made me fall in love... yes baby I can picture us miles and miles away on a beach too ;).

If You Love Me

Have you ever listened to a track that told your life story word for word? Like it's as if the artist read your diary, put it to an instrumental and created a heart-felt piece for the world to hear but for only you to understand?.. Well that is exactly what Tiffany Evans did for me with her latest single titled 'If You Love Me' taken off her up and coming EP 'Take One.' The 19 year old, mum-to-be said she wanted to show her fans who she really is through her new music. And good gosh she definately is doing just that. Her voice is powerful, the lyrics..especially if it hits you closer to home.. are ridiculous and combined this song can reduce you to tears. Before this song I genuinely believed RnB was dead.. But looks like Tiffany Evans just might be the life support we've been praying for. Solid Mix is most definately looking forward to her EP when it drops.

Chris Brown Disses Drake on new The Game Track...sh*t just got politically peak

Okay so we all know roughly about the little lovers tiff between Chris Brown and Drake that happened the other week regarding a flying bottle and Rihanna. Well it seems Chris still hasn't let that ish go. The Yeah x3 singer decided that crying via twitter and instagram wasn't enough and has decided to jump on The Game's new song titled 'I Don't Like' making not so indirect comments at the YMCMB star with lines such as 'them eyebrows, that ish is yikes, OVO you overdose, screaming YOLO no I live twice.'... to be honest his verse is wack, why he felt the need to rap about it is beyond me. If you're going to jump on a track and take a swing at a dude, at least come correct bro, the best you could do was insult his eyebrows, like seriously? Is this what industry beef has turned into? Chris Brown managed to do all that jumping, running and backflips in his latest film 'Takers' yet he couldn't manage to dodge a bottle in a club. To make it worse he goes to twitter and instagram to cry to his fans about it, then has the cheek to try and rap, however many weeks later, and claim Drake wouldn't be man enough to take him on in a fight? Laughing My Flipping Ass Off. Get out of here!

Any respect I had for Chris Brown has literally disappeared. He is officially a joke.

Whitney Houston DIES at Age 48

As you may have heard, Music LEGEND Whitney Houston sadly passed away today; just a day before the 54th Annual Grammy Awards! She was reportedly found in her room at thre Beverly Hilton Hotel in LA in the bathtub by her bodyguard but cause of death is yet to be announced. Miss Houston is a talent who will never be forgotten; nobody had a voice that compared to hers. The power behind her chords was astounding to the ears and moving to our hearts and she will be greatly missed. It is sad that earth has lost another star, but Solid Mix is praying that heaven has gained another angel. Our thoughts go out to her family and friends at this heartbreaking time, and so everyday this week we will dedicate a post to the late Whitney Houston in her memory. Today it's a must that we have 'I will Always Love You' as the first track.

What's next for Blue Ivy Carter?

So now we know what the heir to the music thrown looks like, what's next for Baby Blue? Well we're all aware that Jay Z and Beyonce have moved to patent Blue Ivy so that nobody can use it as a birth name, brand name or any other kind of name! But why? It's clear from this that the Carter couple have big plans in store for their little girl and Solid Mix have come up with what they might be!

1) Perfume - Need we say more? How brilliant would that be if Jay and Bey brought out a fragrance in honour of Blue Ivy?

2) Nail Polish - Her first time being seen in public since giving birth, Mrs Carter was seen wearing blue nail polish that has yet to be released to honour her daughter. Although the colour is said to be Nails inc's new Baker Street polish, it wouldn't surprise us if somewhere down the line - sooner rather than later, Blue Ivy gets her very own shade made!

3) Shop - Not sure what they'd sell, maybe clothes, might even be a day care or an orphanage or something but we're pretty sure a building of some sort will be built or bought in Blue Ivy's name!
